Concrete generally takes 2 days to sock the water and stabilize on the ground. Meanwhile, you have to assure that the pathway is completely dry or not receiving water on the concrete.

After that level the ground and make the soil even. When you apply the new concrete it will automatically stabilize the ground and make the strong base for the concrete slab.
Add filling:
Once you are done with the cleaning and ground leveling, the next process is pouring the concrete filling in the area. After pouring the concrete make the concrete flat and spread it properly all over the place. It should be smooth in the corner and surface to give a nice texture to it. Use the trowel for a smooth finish and make the concrete layer looks flat in all the corners.
Keep it to dry:
The concrete needs sufficient water and minimum two days of time to fully dry. Sprinkle water on the surface to allow the concrete to soak the water.
