Chester Zoo What can be said about Chester Zoo that hasn’t been said before? For those that don’t know, Chester Zoo is a zoological garden situated at Upton by Chester, in Chester, Cheshire, England. It was opened in 1931 by George Mottershed and his family. It is one of the UK’s largest zoos at 125 acres, housing in the region of 20,000 animals. Quite a staggering number really.
